Rahayu Abd Ghani is the Principal Partner of Rahayu Partnership, a boutique maritime law firm based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With nearly 25 years of experience in maritime and shipping law, she is widely regarded as a leading expert in the field. Rahayu earned her Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, in 1996 and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1999. Her legal journey began as an intern at a Subang Jaya law firm specializing in shipping and admiralty matters, where she later completed her pupillage under one of Malaysia’s most respected maritime lawyers. She rose through the ranks to become a partner before founding Rahayu Partnership in 2011. Rahayu’s practice focuses on non-contentious shipping law, with deep expertise in ship financing, ship sale and purchase, registration, and mortgage documentation.
